1 ~The Beginning~

I walk around the Royal training field, watching and teaching some of the younger warriors. I correct a stance here and there to some while giving encouragement to others.

I may be the Luna of the Royal HighClaw pack and the Queen of Werewolves, but I am a warrior born and redefined.

I am a 22-year-old female warrior werewolf. I am 5’5" with olive skin, long black hair with silver streaks and deep green eyes.

My life has been anything but simple or normal, and it all started when my mother met her second chance mate and my stepbrother entered my life.

My name is Katniss Kingsley.

This is my story, though it’s not for those faint of heart.

HOW IT ALL STARTED…

My father, Dante Walker and my mother, Callie Walker were High Warriors for the Crescent Moon Warriors, working directly under Gamma Ryan Beckett. Unfortunately, when I was four, my father was killed protecting our Alpha, Carlos Cooper from a Rogue attack while en-route to the neighbouring Pack, The Moon Guardians.

Two years later when I was six, my mother found her second chance mate in Beta Jasper Sylvan of the Crimson Shadows pack. My mother was Beta Jasper's second chance as well, so he had a 10 year old son of his own, Langdon.

The first 4 years were good we were all happy and other than the normal small bruise here and there as siblings play, my stepbrother seemed to love me as a real sister. However, something in Langdon changed when he got his wolf, Vaskun, and shifted at 14 instead of 16. 

However, we were still normal pups we played and he would leave small undetectable bruises on me, usually where no one could see them or I could cover them.

When I was 14 my mother and stepfather were killed while leaving the Swift Canines pack in a rogue ambush. As Langdon was 18, he convinced our Alpha, Lukan Kingston and our Luna, Diana Kingston to give him guardianship over me.

However, much to Langdon’s disappointment and disagreement, as part of Alpha Lukan’s requirement to give him guardianship, we had to move from the separate two-story Beta house we had lived in with our parents back into the Packhouse and into the Beta floor apartment.

Unfortunately, two months after our parents death, was when my living nightmare started...

Was when the full extent of Langdon’s possessive obsession of me really started to showed itself…

Langdon promised that nothing would change, that he would look after me and that everything would continue as normal, giving me the sense of safety that I needed, to continue on without my mothers presense.

We both were friends with the Alpha family as the Beta family usually is, however, Langdon was much closer to Alpha Lukan’s twin sons, Bryden and Brody, and our Gamma Christos’ son, Joseph. Though he had many other friends throughout the pack.

Brydon is a typical Alpha at 6’4" with amber eyes. He has golden, tanned skin and black hair with blonde streaks, which he has cut short on the sides and long over the top.

Brody, being Brydon’s twin, is nearly an identical image; the only difference in their appearance is that he has red and gold blonde streaks running through his hair.

The only other difference was their scents; Brydon’s scent was a soft but distinct scent of Rainforest, whereas Brody’s was a little more masculine scent of Cedar and Sage.

Joseph takes after his father; he’s 6’ with golden tanned skin that covers defined muscle. He has hazel eyes and a Mint, Lemon and Woody scent.

My best and only real friend, was Alpha Lukan’s daughter and the twins’ little sister, Richell. Though Richell has other friends, she has been mine since my mother met and moved us to this pack to be with my stepfather.

I found it a little hard to make other friends, most were either intimitated by my close friendship with the Alpha family or believed I didn’t belong in the Beta family as I was born a warriors daughter. Langdon’s possessive overpertection might have also had a part in why most people avoided me.

Anyway; Richell is slightly taller than me at 5’10". She is, however, entirely different from her twin brothers, with shoulder-length red hair and green-blue eyes.

Now, Richell knows about Langdon possessive obsession with me, and the moment I see her at the kitchen table, I know that she knows something changed.

When I was 12, Richell and I had a sleepover in her room at the packhouse, and when she accidentally walked into the bathroom as I was changing and saw the marks that were on my skin from the night before.

She gave me no choice, so that once I had finished dressing, she sat me on her bed and finally pulled out of me what was going on. I swore her to secrecy once I told her because I knew that telling anyone wouldn't have made a difference.

I tried to tell my mother once, and she went straight to my stepfather, who denied it and said that his son wasn't that kind of male and he wouldn’t do anything to harm me, as he loved me as his little sister. 

For the next month, Langdon was right in some aspects as we continued to hang out with Brydon, Brody and Richell, though he did seem to pull me into his arms while he was standing or make me sit close to him when we were hanging out in the higher-ranked games room.

Whenever Langdon pulled me into him, I would look at Brydon and Brody and wonder, as I was never really sure, if they knew and agreed, just didn’t care, or they didn’t know.

The main change, was that he would now hit me, especially if I tried to argue and fight against him. He’d tell me that I was his that he owned me and I would submit to him.

No matter how much I struggled or fought him, Langdon would always overpower me and make me eventually submit.
