Chapter One

A gentle moonlight filters through the window, casting a serene, silvery glow that dances faintly across the walls and bed, creating a calm atmosphere.

Allison groggily opened her eyes, she squinted as she took in the unfamiliar environment. She turned her gaze to the side and she caught sight of the beautiful man sleeping calmly beside her on the bed.

The Forbidden Man.

“What the hell happened, Allison?” She murmured to herself as she got out of the bed.

She remembered it was her eighteenth birthday and she had come over to Dominic's house because her parents were away on business. She was sure they didn't know it was her birthday. Not like they ever cared. And her brother went to compete in his volleyball match. She was so bored that she decided to visit Dominic.

On getting to his house, she met him drinking alcohol for some reasons she couldn't comprehend and didn't want to. Instead, she joined him in drinking, too. Normally, Dominic wouldn't have allowed her to drink because he was always as protective as her brother, Adrian. But he was drunk and Allison had always wanted to taste alcohol. She seized the opportunity to taste one and ended up consuming a lot.

Everything that happened afterwards became blurry to her but they all pointed out one thing. She had just slept with her brother's best friend.

Rushing out to the washroom, she cleaned up herself and took her leave. She knew what had happened was wrong in all ways, but it kind of felt right in her heart.

It felt right because she had secretly loved Dominic for years but he was forbidden because Adrian, her brother, had always made it clear that none of his friends were good enough for his sister. Moreover, Dominic was five years older than her.

“Maybe he also feels something for me.” She grinned as the thought crossed her mind.

She was pulled out of her reverie by the insistent buzzing of her phone. Her heart raced and her eyes widened when she saw that the caller was Dominic.

He must have woken up. She thought to herself.

“Brother!” She called out over the phone.

“Lil’ sis. You okay?” He asked groggily, clear evidence that he had just woken up.

“Yes, I am.” A dulcet smile appeared on Allison's face.

“When did you leave?”

“A few hours ago.” Her lips lied. She was just about to hail a cab.

“Did anything happen when you were here? Did I say something to you?” He asked.

Allison raised an eyebrow and gasped heavily. Did he not remember what happened? Maybe not.

“No, nothing happened. I left long ago, I didn't stay long at all.” She lied again for some reason she didn't understand.

“All right. Be good lil’ sis.” He said and ended the call.

Allison breathed heavily, trying to steady herself as her heart raced. Now, she needs to get back home as soon as possible before her brother gets home.

“Sir, can you drive faster?” She urged the driver.

“Sure.” The driver replied, smiling.

In a few minutes, the car pulled up outside her parent's house. She got out of the car and handed a few dollars to the driver before stumbling into the house.

“Where are you coming from?” The familiar voice stopped her in her tracks and her heart pounded in her chest.

She knew how crazy protective Adrian could be of her and dared not mention that she was at Dominic's house. He would definitely go crazy over it.

“Uhm… I went to check if I could get a cake for myself at the mall since it's my birthday.” She managed to say.

Adrian walked up to her with a grin etched on his features, “Silly girl, did you think I forgot your birthday?”

“Of course not. I got a cake already.” He said as he ran his fingers through her long blonde hair that flowed down her shoulders.

Adrian was the only one who celebrated her birthday every year. Their parents never cared about her or anything related to her and she was already used to it.

“Adrian… thank you.” She said as she planted a kiss on his forehead.

In a few minutes, they were already digging into the cake Adrian bought while chatting merrily. Allison suddenly asked her brother a question.

“Adrian, is it weird for a lady to have feelings for a guy?”

“Feelings? Allison, don't tell me you're already developing feelings for someone.” He scowled and this made Allison smile.

“Brother! What are you talking about?” She feigned innocence.

“Of course, you know that you aren't expected to have a boyfriend or have feelings for anyone because you are still very young.” He spatted.

It took everything she had in her for her not to roll her eyes at this time. How could she not have a boyfriend when she was now eighteen and he had a lot of girls at the tip of his fingers?

“I know and I remember that you promised to find me a good man when it's time.” She breathed heavily. “This isn't about me, Adrian, it's about a friend of mine. She asked for my advice, and I don't know much about stuff like this.”

Adrian's lips curved into a smile. “That’s true, my little princess is so innocent.”

“It's not bad if your friend has feelings for a guy. And it's better if she could express how she feels towards the guy.”

“Really? But what if she got rejected?” Allison required.

“Is it not better than her drowning in a feeling that cannot be retaliated back to her?”

Allison nodded her head, and all she could say was, “Hmmm.”

She suddenly started feeling sleepy after taking the juice that Adrian had prepared for her. She thought it was still the effects of the alcohol that she had taken earlier.

“I should go to bed now.” She said, and Adrian had a wide grin on his face that she didn't notice.

Allison got to her room and before finally drifting to sleep, she texted Dominic that she wanted to have an important conversation with him the next day. She didn't get a reply from him till she slept off.

After about fifteen minutes, a tall, slender figure wearing a face mask walked into her room.

“Just what I've always wanted,” he whispered.
